Patch 0.5 · Runes of Aldur

New 0.5 Uniques and What They Enable

0.5 dropped a pile of new uniques, but only some of them change how you play. These are the ones that open a build, not just fill a slot. Most are archetype anchors: weapons and armour that grant a skill or rewrite a damage rule so a whole tree of decisions falls into place. A handful are chase items every build wants. Two dads, one rule: if a unique does not change the plan, it is not on this list. Pricing and trade for any of these lives on /market and /stash.

01 The archetype-anchor weapons

These are the items you build around. Each one either grants a skill or rewrites a damage rule, and the rest of the tree follows from there.

  • Twisted Empyrean (Aberrant Sledge, Level 70). A two-handed mace that converts 100% of your Fire Damage with Mace Skills to Cold, then adds Cold Damage that scales off your maximum Mana. It hands you 300 to 400 added max Mana and added Cold equal to 6 to 12% of that pool, plus the Starborn Onslaught skill. This anchors a cold-converted strength and mana-stacking melee build.
  • Liminal Coil (Twisted Wand, Level 65). Your curses ignore the curse limit and their magnitudes are set to zero, so they stop dealing damage themselves and instead make your spell hits deal extra Chaos and Physical per curse on the target. Grants Coiling Bolts. This is the curse-stacking caster: more curses, more hits.
  • Periphery (Heartwood Shortbow, Level 67). A tri-elemental bow where your elemental hit damage feeds Flammability, Ignite, and Chill magnitudes, Freeze buildup, and Shock chance all at once. Grants Level 16 Azmerian Swarms. One bow, every elemental ailment at the same time.
  • Sadist's Mercy (Flanged Mace, Level 67). Grants Harbinger of Madness and inflicts Gruelling Madness on hit. Enemies in your Presence then gain additional Power equal to their Gruelling Madness, an endgame ailment and madness build.
  • Serle's Grit (Kalguuran Forgehammer, Level 47). A one-hand mace that grants Runic Tempering, gives Empower-an-Attack skills a 10 to 20% chance to not consume the attack, and adds Physical Thorns damage per Runic Plate. A rune and thorns Warrior anchor that comes online early.

02 Minion and companion army anchors

Two staves and a sceptre that turn a pile of summons into a real build.

  • The Raven's Flock (Perching Staff, Level 65). Grants Spiraling Conspiracy and buffs your army: up to 80 to 120% increased Minion Damage, a chance for minions to inflict Gruelling Madness on hit, and increased Spirit Reservation Efficiency. A minion-focused anchor.
  • Sylvan's Effigy (Stoic Sceptre, Level 62). Grants Discipline and a Level 14 Azmerian Wolf, increases Spirit, and lets you have any number of Companions of different types. That last line is the whole point: it unlocks mixed-companion armies instead of one repeated pet.

03 The hybrid and unarmed enablers

Body armour and gloves that rewrite a core rule instead of granting a skill.

  • The Unleashed (Revered Vestments, Level 65). Builds Runic Binding on spell hits, then converts every stack into Unbound Potential when you Shapeshift. It is the engine for a spell-plus-shapeshift hybrid: cast to charge, shift to spend.
  • Facebreaker (Stocky Mitts, Level 1). Lets you use One Handed Mace skills with both hands empty, with the gloves' own physical damage replacing the mace's. That damage is 8 to 12, gaining +3 to +4 per Boss's Face Broken, and you get more Unarmed Damage per Strength plus extra unarmed Melee Strike Range. An unarmed mace build you can league-start at Level 1.
  • Eventide Petals (Veridical Chain amulet, Runeforged at the Verisium Anvil). Grants the Midnight Zenith skill and adds increased Critical Hit Chance, Intelligence, and Light Radius. The build line: "Ice Crystals have reduced maximum Life per 5% Cold Resistance you have," so stacking Cold Resistance changes the survivability and uptime of your Ice Crystals. Note: level requirement sources conflict (see FAQ), so confirm in-game before you plan around it.

04 The chase items every build wants

These are not archetype anchors. They are universal upgrades you slot into almost anything, which is exactly why they top trade boards. Check current asks on /market.

  • Mageblood (Utility Belt, Level 55). A pinnacle chase belt with 1 to 3 charm slots that applies 20% of flask recovery instantly and rolls four random Mage's Legacy effects whose power scales 25 to 50% per duplicate. The most-wanted belt in the league.
  • Voices (Sapphire Jewel, Corrupted). Allocates 2 Sinister Jewel sockets, up to 4 on higher variants. Extra jewel slots for any build, which is why it goes in almost everything.

05 Quick FAQ

Which new 0.5 unique is the best league-starter?

Facebreaker. It requires Level 1, so you can equip it the moment you have it and build an unarmed One Handed Mace character from the very start. Serle's Grit at Level 47 is the next step down, an early Warrior anchor that comes online well before maps.

What does Mageblood actually do?

It is a Level 55 Utility Belt with 1 to 3 charm slots. It applies 20% of flask recovery instantly and rolls four random Mage's Legacy effects, with each effect's power scaling 25 to 50% per duplicate Mage's Legacy. It is a pinnacle chase belt that fits almost any build, which is why it is the most-wanted belt in the league. See current pricing on /market.

Why does Liminal Coil set curse magnitudes to zero?

Because the build does not want the curses to deal damage directly. With magnitudes at zero, your curses ignore the curse limit so you can stack as many as you like, and each curse on the target makes your spell hits deal extra Chaos and Physical damage. The wand grants Coiling Bolts and turns curse count into hit damage.

What level is Eventide Petals?

Sources disagree sharply: game8 lists Level 18, poe2wiki.net Level 52, Fextralife as high as Level 84. Treat the requirement as unconfirmed and check it in-game before you build around it.

Where do I check prices for these uniques?

Use /market for current asks and watchlist tracking, and /stash to value items you already own. We do not keep individual price pages for these items, so those two routes are the source of truth.
