Is the Recombinator in 0.5?

Short answer: no. The Recombinator (and the Omen of Recombination) are disabled for the entire Runes of Aldur (0.5) league. If you came back for 0.5 and went looking for it, you're not missing a button: it's gone this league. Here's why, and what to craft with instead.

01 The short answer

There is no Recombinator in 0.5. It's switched off for the whole Runes of Aldur league, and the Omen of Recombination was removed, so you can't recombine two items into one this league, full stop. If you remembered recombination from a previous patch, that muscle memory doesn't apply right now.

What changed: 0.5 rebuilt crafting around the league's new Verisium Runeforging system. The Recombinator was pulled as part of that reset: not bugged, deliberately disabled.

02 Why GGG pulled it

The stated reasoning: combined with 0.5's new crafting power (Runeforging, Runic Alloys, and the league's meta-crafting tools), recombination would have made top-tier items too easy to assemble. Leaving it in would have solved crafting in week one. Disabling it keeps gearing a deliberate, league-long climb, which is exactly the kind of system this site exists to help you read.

04 Is it coming back?

It's disabled for the duration of the Runes of Aldur league, so it could return in a future patch or the next league, the way GGG often cycles mechanics in and out. Nothing's confirmed. For 0.5, treat recombination as not a thing and lean into Runeforging: it's the intended path, and it's genuinely good once you're farming Remnants.

Can I recombine items in PoE 2 0.5?

No. Recombination is disabled for the Runes of Aldur league: there's no Recombinator and no Omen of Recombination to use.

Where did the Omen of Recombination go?
