Tangmazu, The Raven Trickster: the 0.5 Delirium pinnacle, explained
Tangmazu, The Raven Trickster is the Delirium pinnacle boss added in patch 0.5, Return of the Ancients. You reach him by clearing the Simulacrum of Delusion for a Raven's Reflection, then placing it in the mirror at the Withered Willow. His headline drop is the Raven-Touched Shard, a one-use helmet augment trading near 80 divine on two weeks into the league: live number on our price page.
01 Who Tangmazu is
Tangmazu is an ancient trickster god and the source of the Delirium fog in 0.5. The fight happens in the Paracosm, a separate arena you portal into from the Withered Willow. Community wikis put his health pool at roughly 7 million across multiple phases, so this is a real pinnacle check, not a victory lap.
Besides the Raven-Touched Shard, Game8 lists two exclusive uniques: Sadist's Mercy (Flanged Mace) and Veilpiercer (Amethyst Ring). The shard is the money drop. Everything else is a bonus you can value in the stash valuator.
02 How to reach the fight
Access runs through the Strange Reflections questline. It starts when you complete a Delirium encounter in the Atlas and free Elder Madox, which puts the Withered Willow on your map. From there:
- Defeat 5 Delirium map bosses.
- Return to the Withered Willow. Madox unlocks the Decanter of Madness (Liquid Emotions crafting).
- Beat the twinned bosses in a Grand Mirror encounter.
- Take the Strange Fruit from the Strange Mirror and consume it to spread Delirium fog across the Atlas.
- Run Delirium-affected maps to build Deliriousness and progress toward the Simulacrum of Delusion.
- Survive every section of the Simulacrum. The reward is the Raven's Reflection.
- Place the Reflection in the Withered Willow's mirror. The portal to the Paracosm and Tangmazu opens.
03 The fight, briefly
Three things matter. First, several of his attacks track your position, so keep moving and do not greed stationary damage windows. Second, partway through the fight he teleports to the arena center, heals back to full, and detonates a blast covering most of the middle: that is scripted, not a bug, so hold cooldowns for the second health bar. Third, his big beam sweeps the arena in a straight line, and you can dodge roll through it rather than outrunning it. We run pinnacles as a duo, one mapper and one boss specialist: setups on /duo-builds.
04 What the Raven-Touched Shard actually does
The shard is a helmet augment, not a craftable currency. The item text is blunt: place it into an empty Augment Socket in a helmet to apply its effect, and once socketed it cannot be retrieved or replaced. Limit one per item, level 60 requirement.
A socketed helmet becomes Raven-Touched, which lets you instill it with a Notable Passive Skill at the Withered Willow. That is a whole notable from the tree on a helmet slot, which is why endgame builds pay heavily for it. Two hard rules: corrupted helmets cannot be instilled, and despite the name the shard does not combine into anything. Some Delirium uniques also drop already Raven-Touched, skipping the shard step.
05 The economics: sell it or socket it
As of June 12, two weeks into the league, the shard sits around 10.2k exalted, roughly 80 divine, and it has climbed hard this week, up about 170 percent over four days on our tracker, with deep trade volume behind it. Live number and liquidity check on /price/raven-touched-shard, alongside the rest of the market watchlist.
Dad math: the buyer of this shard is a build at the end of its upgrade path, socketing it into a final helmet. If your helmet is not final, you are not that buyer. Sell it. Socketing into a placeholder helmet burns 80 divine the moment you upgrade, because the shard does not come back out. The drop rate is unconfirmed: a 2 percent figure circulates from a single video and we could not verify it, but the price tells you it is rare either way.
06 Quick FAQ
Does the Raven-Touched Shard combine into a full item?
No. Despite the shard name, there is no recipe that combines it into anything. Shards do stack up to 10 in your inventory, but each one is a standalone one-use helmet augment. Ten of them are just ten separate sales.f them are just ten separate sales.
Can I instill a corrupted helmet?
No. Corrupted helmets cannot be instilled. Socket the shard and pick your notable before any Vaal Orb touches the helmet, or the shard is wasted.
Can I move the shard to a different helmet later?
No. Once socketed it cannot be retrieved or replaced, and a helmet can only hold one. Treat the decision as permanent and only socket your final helmet.
What is the drop rate from Tangmazu?
Not confirmed. A roughly 2 percent figure circulates from a single video and we could not verify it in any second source. Treat the shard as a rare drop, not a guaranteed one per kill.
Is it the Withered Hollow or the Withered Willow?
Withered Willow. You will see Hollow in chatter and search suggestions, but Withered Willow. The official 0.5.0 patch notes name the Delirium hub "The Withered Willow", and Game8 and Fextralife use the same name. One major wiki, poe2wiki, titles its page for the same hub "The Withered Hollow", which is where the confusion comes from. Either way it is the same place: Elder Madox sits there, the Raven's Reflection goes into the mirror there, and instilling happens there.hered Willow. That is where Elder Madox sits, where you place the Raven's Reflection, and where instilling happens.
